Program Notes

The program will utilize the talents of a sizable Brass/Organ/Percussion Orchestra for John Rutter's Gloria, and we will also use players from this group to present some Gabrieli motets for multiple choirs of voices, organ and brass. We are also looking at several pieces using two of the proper Marian Antiphons with Motets (Ave Regina Coelorum , Regina Caeli), Randall Thompson's Alleluia, the stunning Biebel Ave Maria and Dupré's Laudate Dominum for choir and TWO ORGANS! We are excited by this program: Big, Splashy and FUN!

Now in its sixth season, the Festival Choir is made up of seventy auditioned singers representing more than 25 parishes throughout the Archdiocese of Atlanta. J. Wayne Baughman, Music Director at St. Benedict Church, will conduct the performance.
